For ease of reference here is a quick guide to the main aspects of our Marine Professional Negligence wording:
Professional Indemnity Cover: At its most simple, this covers claims arising from an error or omission in the exercise of your professional services. Under most jurisdictions this liability extends not only to your customer’s losses, but also those of other parties who you could reasonably have known would be replying on your knowledge or skill. Our cover under this section also extends to liability arising out of fraud of employees, libel/slander or infringement of personal rights, misdirected claims and the unintentional breach of a regulation/warranty of authority/legal or statutory provision.
Third Party Legal Liability: In the course of providing your services you could cause an accident which may in turn expose you to a claim from someone with whom you have no contractual relationship. Cover for such claims is provided under this section in addition to any third party indemnities which may need to be given to others in the normal course of business.
Claims Expenses: This section covers the costs involved in investigating and defending claims.
An attractive feature within our policy wording is that we credit our client’s who remain claims free and renew their cover with us with a 10% premium rebate to reward this loyalty and excellent claims performance.
